Halloween vest (crochet sleeves)

While in the middle of making gifts, I’ve also taken the time to also work on my vest! This is my first completed crochet piece!

I really had no idea what I was doing! I got this vest from the thrift store and ended up never wearing it! I decided that I just didn’t care for the vest look and put my mind to picking up crochet to make sleeves!

I followed several videos online but the one issue I kept coming up on was the fact mine was a vest while the videos were hoodies that were cut at the sleeve.

I ended up working and reworking the sleeves over these last few months until I got to this point. I’m still not entirely happy with the way it falls, but I do believe this was the best outcome for all the issues I was met with!

This is the yarn I used!

(I’ve noticed these are my unofficial crafting pants )

How did you attach the sleeves to the vest? Are they sewn on or did you make holes in the armhole and crochet? Whatever you did, they look fabulous and really added to that vest!

I have seen that yarn and love everything rainbow. I like that it is a bright rainbow. Well done!

This is such a brilliant idea!! I am saving this. I have a hoodie from high school I can’t bear to part with but the sleeves are trying to jump ship from the body despite multiple times of resewing the torn edges. I may just cut them off and try to do something like this. The Halloween vest of it all takes it to a whole other level too. Priceless!
