Hexagonal sided box

I learned how to make this box in a class by ReConnecting (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/reconnecting-32213749747) which is a group based in the UK. You can find out about their events–all free–at the link provided. I made it out of a box that the accessories for my new little countertop oven came in. The sides of the box are hexagonal. I used a copy of Desiderata that I have had since the 1970s or 1980s as part of the covering. I kept the tab and that piece with the little cut-out from the original box.

That’s a very cool box! What is desiderata?

Desiderata is an inspirational poem written by a man named Max Ehrmann in 1927. It was very popular on posters, etc in the 1970s. You can read the text here

Very cool box! I can see this style having lots of uses, even for gifting a bottle of wine or special olive oil or similar.

Love the shape and your use of papers to cover.

I also have the poem framed from the 1970’s. It was practically the anthem of the hippie revolution even though it was written in the 1930’s? It has been my credo ever since. It still applies to modern times as well and is much needed these days.

I love your ideas for possible uses! I have recently started exploring quilling and this box is coincidentally just the right size to hold my quilling paper.

I entirely agree about Desiderata’s continuing relevance.
