You have a hardworking and talented guy there! Does he enjoy doing things himself? Looking good…which reminds me…I have something I need to send to your son… :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s more that he refuses to pay someone else for work he won’t be happy with. He trusts himself…even if he’s not the best when it comes to the finesse…he’s an engineer, so…it’s function over form.

Ooo. Something for my son?

It looks great!!! This will be such a cool space when it’s done. I love attic rooms.

Trim is done! (This is Mr. Road style trim, lol. Our whole house has this.)

Kiddo is deciding if he wants to move up now or wait for the stairs.

WOW! Seems like so much has come together in the last little bit… at least to someone who doesn’t live there.

Trying to imagine getting that chest of drawers up there w/o stairs…

No bars on the windows? Was it just me who climbed out of windows to meet my friends at the teen club? oh…

I say he should wait for stairs…going up and down a ladder can be tiring even for a teen!

My inner tree house child is disapointed in all you “stair” people lol

My outer Mom person is all about the stairs. Safety and convenience!

I am speaking as an “older” person who has to get up 100 times a night to go potty…

Haha…no, you are right. There was a lot of nothing then…bam!

We are thinking it might be easier to move furniture up there before stairs because of the way the stairs will curve to fit in the small space.

But yes, I have nightmares of a ladder incident. I prob won’t sleep well until there are stairs if he moves up there first…

Smart! When we first got married we didn’t think about how to get the furniture into some pretty tight hallways and staircases! We had to remove the door frame once to get a sleeper sofa bed through!

Haha, well, how the furniture comes back down is still uncertain. They maybe be permanent fixtures up there!

When we moved, thankfully the sofa bed was on its last legs so we dismanteled/destroyed it and took it out in pieces! We sold the pool table with the house as there was no way it was going with us…the thing weighed a ton!

I can relate too well to that!!

Siiiigh. Well, the electrician got us sorted for that part of the dishwasher installation. Once that was done I realized that I needed to make another “port” for the water and drain tubes in a different spot. Took me awhile to find the arbor for my hole saw, but I did and got’er done. Got everything reconnected, tested for leaks, and pushed the D/W back into it’s spot only to realize I had neglected to adjust the feet to make it the correct height. I can not face lying on the floor dealing with this today, so… tomorrow afternoon we will hopefully have a functioning dishwasher. :flushed:

Thank you, @Harlan

Well, I think that my dishwasher is installed and ready to go! No leaks in the test run, at least. That said, I may have to take a course at the Community College to figure out exactly how to use it. It’s kind of a shame that certain cool features only come with the fancy electronic models; just 'cuz I’m an Old, doesn’t mean I don’t want to have an adjustable rack for stemware n shtuff.

That’s super that you got that done!! Funny that appliances have become so complicated that you really do need a course to know how to work it all (maybe not literally, but very close! )

I used to do a lot more when I was younger - I was the help I could afford. My knees object to my even trying many things that I would have done previously and my hands don’t have the strength for some projects.
