I would really love to get rid of the filing bins and computer tower and desk that houses it…you’ve got me thinking about finding another space for it…I think one of the reasons I get in a crafting slump is that I see the work stuff and it feels confining or something…your space looks cozy and peaceful
@marionberries Congratulations on retirement! And on getting your dining room back to home-from-home status! I hope you’re feeling better, too.
@Abbeeroad Wow! Fixing a dryer is impressive and probably a drag, especially annually. Congratulations on a new sink!
My DW just fixed the kitchen sink sprayer that has been leaking and sticking. Dryer repair is more impressive. All household repairs are impressive…even sink sprayers.
Yeah for mr/ms fixit!
Agreed!!
After 15 months I finally have most of a kitchen again! The countertops have to “cure” for 24 hours but I should have plumbing and trim work on Friday.
My workhorse of a 1986 GE stove is going back in the gap and I sure hope it fits.
Looking good!!
It looks fantastic!
Ooooohhhhh… I love the floor!
Agree with @MistressJennie, it’s all beautiful, but the floor is amazing!
SO crisp! It looks like it will be a joy to cook in.
Really nice, especially the floor!! It will be such a joy to finally use your new kitchen after all this time.
Thank you! The floor definitely came out bolder than I was expecting but every other sheet vinyl option was incredibly dull.
I’m so glad it’s beginning to look like a kitchen now. The longer it stood without the counter the more I questioned every decision I ever made. Still not sure about the blue - but I’m sure it’ll be fine if I can get some more color in elsewhere. Plumbing and appliances tomorrow (just putting back the old ones) so maybe I’ll be functional this weekend!
And we’re (more or less) done!
I still need to swap out the front panel of my 1986 dishwasher, get some white outlets put in, and there’s the small matter of putting everything away but I have appliances and a sink again, which is what really matters.
This is awesome! Yay you!! Congratulations!
It looks so great!!
Looks good!
Do you have a Habitat Restore? They usually have outlets and covers from people’s renovations. My sister used stainless steel contact paper on her old dishwasher until they could replace it. It looked very good and matched their new microwave.
It looks fabulous! Hey, your range fit perfectly! What a relief to have a fully functional kitchen again.
It looks great! And how amazing that your appliances from 1986 still work.
Looks great!! An enjoyable space in which to cook!!
Is the refrigerator right behind where you stood to take the photo?? (Thinking about the kitchen “work triangle”.
@AIMR We do have a Habitat Restore, but I’m leaving the outlets in my father’s hands. He tends to do house projects in lieu of presents (one year I got a new toilet for my birthday). He’s been muttering about 20 amp outlets and shaking his head at the old, non-standard circuit box in the utility room. And the dishwasher actually has a black option on the other side of the metal panel on the front. That’s my plan until I can decide between a peel & stick pattern or the faux stainless.
@Harlan - Yep, fridge is behind me. The layout has lots of wide open space along with some unusable corners.
