The beavers and “I Chews You” stamps are from a set I got from @irid3sc3nt in the 2024 STS and I blame them for starting my cute stamp obsession. They were PERFECT for making Galentines cards.
The card bases were from a blank card set and I used a tiny hearts embossing folder to jazz them up. I tried a stamp brushing technique to bring out the hearts that I saw on YouTube but that was largely a failure. I cut the rectangle opening with a fancy die.
The beavers were colored with alcohol marker. I made some of the backgrounds with alcohol marker and some with water-soluble ink.
In the end the cards looked a bit plain so I gussied them up with a sketchy black border using my fineliner pen.
SO adorable! Gotta love beavers! Have you seen one up code before? They’re WAY bigger than you think. I wish I had done some Valentines this year. I did at least put up my super cute window clings.
Oh, ha, I didn’t remember you got those from me! I saw them in the swap and thought how it’s great to see another person enjoying Lawn Fawn stamps. They can be addictive, especially if you get the die-cuts with them.
Your cards look great. I, too, love Valentine puns.
@irid3sc3nt - that’s hillarious that you could instantly recognize they’re Lawn Fawn stamps and die cuts. I really love the set and would love to get some more, but they’re pretty pricey so instead I just visit the Creative Reuse store every couple months to see what I can find.
Yes, they are, but it’s probably for several reasons. I think they are still manufactured in the USA and they’re better quality than other clear stamps.
I’ve had some luck on eBay finding used ones that are still in good condition, just with some staining from ink.
The Lawn Fawn ones are really nice quality! I’m totally fine with second-hand stamps and dies and actually prefer that. Besides, the Creative Reuse shop always feels like a fun treasure hunt.
