Improv quilt - Dane

I could make these all day long. I love the process and I love the deranged finished product.

That is crazy in the best way! I like that the borders are even different colors.

This feels like the quilts of yore, made from what was left of clothes and linens to keep families warm.

LOVE this

Curious if you have a strategy for the improv piecing? Is it just hack and slash until the piece reaches a certain block size, then square off and start again for the next block?

Yep. I try to start each block with mismatched angles. Weird triangles. Sometimes I’ll chain piece a bunch of similarly sized off cuts. Like if I have a handful of inch and half cuts from a charm pack, I’ll link them I to a long piece and line that up. But I try to not… Measure anything. It even press too often. :joy:
