Index-Card-a-Day 2024 (lots of pics [but not all 61])

This year I did the ICAD challenge for the first time. It runs June 1 to July 31 and is pretty much what it says on the label: Decorate an index card for each of those days. I didn’t literally do a card every day, but I did do all 61 in 61 days.

The artist who runs it provides optional themes, which I largely stuck to. Here are a few favorites (official theme unless otherwise noted):

Owl

Coffee

Opaque

Postcard (theme from megjournals Junk Journal July 2024)

Racetrack

Wildcard

Playing cards

Thanks for looking! Especially those of you in the paper/mixed media craftalong who I already made look at these as I went .

Such fun and funky little collage artworks! Not sure why but they’re giving me old school Zine vibes (maybe because your use of text and handwritten text in the collages?).

It’s been really fun to see your posts of your cards! Some of them really made me laugh with how you put them together!

That would be quite the challenge. It looks like you had a lot of fun with it.

Thanks, everyone!

It helped a little that I used the Thing-a-Day craftalong to prep the backgrounds :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

When I realized I still had the Speedway part of my Indianapolis map lying around, I was THRILLED.

:trumpet: :trumpet: :trumpet: Congratulations! Your wonderful craft is one of this week’s Featured Projects! :tada: :confetti_ball: :balloon:

I like the coffee one. Where can I find the ICAD Challenge? I’ve seen these card a day challenges before and have wanted to play along.

It’s run by Tammy at Daisy Yellow. Here’s a link to a landing page for this year’s challenge.

Fun! I don’t have the discipline, or maybe the memory, for ANYTHING I have to do every day. (“Did I take my pill today???”). I admire your tenacity.

I had to give myself a little leeway not to force it every.single.day, or I’d likely have dug in my heels at the “obligation.”
