Since I had so much fun with watercolors recently, I decided to keep painting but try a new medium. I realized today that I had never painted art with acrylics. I’ve used them for all kinds of crafty endeavors, but not a painting. Ta dah! I read a few tutorials on how to achieve transparency on the mist/flames. It was a learning process! I had to black a few out and start again. In the end, I’m quite happy with the result.

Love this! The wispy flames are gorgeous, and that figure is cool also; very well shaded.

I think you found your calling. This is obviously a medium that loves you. How ambitious to do fog on your first go around. The figure is amazing and I love the subtle shaping and light wrapping around their body.
PS. The foreshortening on the feet wouldn’t be easy either!

Thank you so much, everybody!
That is awesome! You have a great eye for balancing negative space.
Cool flames! Or rather, white-hot!
