Is there a way to diy from old pastels a watersoluble crayon?

I am thinking about how to do this? Like making homemade Neocolors II from pastels?
What wax would be good to use? I do have a little leftover old beeswax somewhere but not sure if that is suitable for it? Does there exist like a synthetic non-greasy wax?
Did anyone try to do this?

Maybe paraffin? Synthetic, non greasy (at least as waxes go).
How about soy wax from candlemaking supplies?

Oils & waxes are not water soluble. Water colour paints are not powders like chalk pastels though chalk pastels can be used wet.

Ah, I missed the watersoluble part. I wonder if you could mix the pastels with cornstarch and water, shape and dry?

Chalk pastels are pigment mixed with kaolin clay & a binder, I think the addition of cornstarch would further dilute the vibrancy of the colours & not sure it would improve solubility but anything is worth experimenting with.
