I swapped with @Reese52 in the Santa Sack Swap. She’s a fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas. I knew right away I wanted to try my hand at this iconic scene from the movie!
This project made me realize how odd Jack’s proportions are lol
I had fun painting Locke, Shock, and Barrel. I colored them using watercolor pencils which I then smudged with my finger to give them a more smooth look.
The green gooey line marks where the lid touches the bottom. I wanted to be mindful of that so I had drawn a line over it. I decided to paint that line green, like the green watery stuff from the fountain in Halloween Town.
I used a sealer called Triple Thick that dries like resin. The top of the box has a cool thick top layer, but it caused the paint to smear. ![]()
I only used the Triple Thick on the lid after I saw how badly it smeared. I used a spray sealer for the inside and rest of the box. ![]()
Oh, I also had a weird issue with my Posca Paint pens during this project. The paint would dry with crackles in it.
