Jellyfish Watercolor Postcard

For my July postcard in Camp Nerd Games, I decided to follow this tutorial from Andrea Nelson. I loved her approach with using just one color (in her case pink) for the entire painting. Since I was sending to a Lettuce Crafter with “blues” in her name, I switched to blue for mine. I mostly followed the tutorial as written, but had a little trouble with my white pencil, making the whole thing feel a little flat, so instead I went back with a thin blue PaperMate market to add a bit more detail, some bubbles, and a border. The blue pencil did work, so I like how the multiple blue media gave me different weights and textures.

But I realized after I finished it that I didn’t have any wax to protect it in the mail, so I ended up putting it into an envelope to make its trip. I hope it arrives safely.

Has a great flow. It also makes me not want to go into the lake at the Camp! Ha!

I like how you traced the edge with that bright blue and left a white border around the whole thing!
