My first zipper addition to a sewing project, and it’s not too shabby,
.
I used both these videos for making this. I was actually going to make the laptop bag first, but I thought it might be a bit much for me at the moment trying to do the decorative sewing for the front and back. So I decided on the tablet bag as I wouldn’t need to worry about the quilt batting being too loose if I weren’t to do the extra stitching on the front.

Also, there is one quirk I do need to figure out on my sewing machine. I did have the foot pressure way too loose, but at the same time it was a tad too tight,
. That will take some time to learn the appropriate adjustments for it.
And lastly, I tried. I really tried to hide the inner sleeve’s stitches. I just couldn’t do it and gave in and just sewn a seam on the bottom of the inner piece. Meh, no one would see it anyway, heh.
Grr! I didn’t get the front pocket as lined up as I had hoped. Before sewing it, it was perfect, heh. Probably pulled a little too hard on the bottom of the pocket as I was sewing around. Meh, it’s close enough.
Since I messed up on the pocket (I didn’t realize I needed to shorten it,
). Anyway, what I did to counter that, I had picked just the top edges of the pocket and pinned them back while I worked around the zipper. Then those edges would get sewn up during the final sewing.
