Knitty Scraps for A Quilty Pillow

I finally finished finished this knit pillow cover using the pattern from the Heirloom Quilt Cardigan. The front was finished last year using up a bunch of yarn leftover from the actual Cardigan project that went to a friend, and sat for long while in timeout. Then I finally got a pillow insert for it, but that ended up being bigger than I planned so it sat some more. I finally finished cobbling together the back, which is a mish-mash of leftover yarn because I got tired of making the squares and wanted something more simple to knit. It’s definitely not a perfect fit for the form, but I’m past caring now. It’s wonky but cute.

Both sides would work for a funky eclectic decor. Of course, the quilty side is gorgeous. I love all the colors and patterns together…the stripes going in two directions…are they pieced together (3 sections?)?

Its BEAUTIFUL! :star_struck: The colors are amazing, and the scrappy back is so cute a contrast to the orderly front. Seriously stunning my friend.

The two vertical stripes were picked up directly from the sides of the blocks and worked that way. I had hoped that would be big enough to close up the back, but it was not  So then I picked up more stitches along one of the sides and went horizontal for fun. Once that was done, I crocheted that to the other side, which allows me to easily undo it when I want to wash the cover.

Thanks everyone for all the love :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I don’t “yarn” but that looks like so much work! All the color changes and angles! Love all the colors.

Front the front page I thought it was quilted. Given it is knitted, it is even more awe-inspiring.

Such a fun piece!
