Kodama mini painting turned purse charm

I wasn’t sure what category to put this but decided art made the most sense.

For the keychain and purse charm swap I was inspired by @EriChanHime’s kodama theme and couldn’t get the idea of this little painting turned into a purse charm out of my head.

I used turner acrylic gouache on hot press watercolor paper, fixed it with a UV fixative, and attached it to a backing board before attaching it to the mini easel.

Thumbnailing trying to decide on a composition and figure out how to draw kodamas.

He’s been sitting on my bookshelf keeping me company in my studio before it was time to send.

I was sad to see him go and might need to paint another one for myself. Thanks for looking!

This little guy is so cute! I’d be terrified to use him for the intended purpose though.

Same. I probably cheated a bit by going not super functional but I just loved the idea so much that I couldn’t help myself
