I love these little koki’o bud vases I just finished!
Just in case anyone is curious, these are high fire porcelain. The insides are glazed, but the sgraffito outside is just bare underglaze. (Not all underglazes survive the high fire; you’d have to do your own testing with your setup to make sure the colors don’t burn off.)
Absolutely gorgeous! The designs and color work so well.
I love them! They are so cute!
Beautiful! I love the matte effect of the glaze. Is that because of the high fire?
These are really pretty!
Absolutely lovely my friend!
These are so cute.
Fabulous! I love the matte colors and the flower design. That orange is lovely.
These are so cute!
And your photos are great too
They are wonderful. I like the blue ones best
Thanks so much for your kind words, everyone!! 🩵
@Abbeeroad, the matte colors are actually just underglazes without any clear glaze over them.
*in case anyone also needs this info, underglaze is basically colored slip you can use like paint on greenware or bisqueware.
slip = liquid(ish) clay
greenware = before any firing
bisque = after a first (lower temperature) firing, clay is sintered, so it’s solid, but still very porous.
Fascinating!! Thank you!
