Lemon Blueberry Scones - Great LC Holiday Bakeoff 2024 Entry

I’ve always wanted to try making scones. I can make biscuits (American style) so scones should be somewhat similar.

I used a recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I had to use almost twice as much heavy cream as my dough was way too crumbly with only 1/2 a cup.

They turned out pretty good and and weren’t nearly as dry as the ones I’ve had at local cafes.

I have been buying scones at the bakery. They are expensive and don’t stay fresh very long. I usually ditch the last 2-3.

Can these be frozen? (yes…she has instructions in her recipe!!!)They look so much better than store baked. The icing drizzle on top would probably mean I don’t need to smother the scones with preserves!

I love scones! Cranberry scones and pumpkin scones are staples in our house, but I haven’t tried lemon blueberry. These look delicious.

cranberry sounds great. maybe with some orange zest.
