I am getting back into hand embroidery and I have the big iPad. My daughter is an artist and she turned me on to this app that changes your iPad into a light box for 99 cents. No more using my window. This app works great it’s called Lightbox trace it’s great and simple to use. I printed out my pattern and traced it onto muslin with a frixion pen you can also import pictures from the iPad photos and the clipboard if you don’t want to print it.
