Limerick Birthday Card

I wrote a Limerick for a friend’s son and decided to illustrated it as a his birthday card. I’m a bit disappointed with the result, but oh well… The first is the cover depicting some of his favourite things. (Unfortunately, the photos are not great - and the gold lettering doesn’t show well on the second red card.)

There once was a boy named Nik,
who wanted money real quick.
For his wish to be granted,
a money tree he planted.
Now he waits for his fortune to pick.>

Excellent! Curious…did you give him any “seed” money in the card to help him along?

Sometimes, the imperfections in handmade cards or illustrations can add a unique charm and personal touch. Regardless of the quality of the photos or the visibility of the gold lettering, the sentiment behind the card and the effort you put into creating it are what make it special. I’m sure your friend’s son will appreciate the thoughtfulness and creativity behind the limerick and the personalized illustrations.
