Machine Embroidered Patches - LC, Potion Bottle, Crafty Merit Badges

In our last house, our dog was afraid of my embroidery machine. Every time I used it, she freaked out. Even if she was outside, on our back porch (a spot she loved), she could sort-of hear the machine (which was upstairs on the opposite side of the hosue), and was highly anxious. At that house, she was also afraid of our washer & dryer, which made doing laundry or embroidering, a really big task. I had to either start a load, then take the dog out of the house on a long walk, or with me on errands (which didn’t work well in the summer in the South), or I had to get my husband to basically sit and hold her while I embroidered. Understandably, Jim didn’t really want to be tethered to the dog for a couple hours at a time.

Since moving to a new house, she’s somehow no longer afraid of either laundry (same washer & dryer!!!) or the embroidery machine, so I have done some work with it since moving in. Let’s see what I’ve done recently…

I did a bunch of D&D patches, ornaments and coasters for the Make a Pouch & Fill It Swap. Oh, and a few Dragon Needle Books! One for Jillybeans and one for me.

I did 6 embroidered aprons for the children of friends in town, at the holidays. Two Hanukah and 4 Christmas. I don’t think those ever got their own post, because I didn’t get good pictures of them unfolded, or on the kids. Obviously I did the squares for the memory quilts for Jacob that you helped me with.

And I just did an embroidered component of a larger art piece for the Use What You Have Swap, that looks like it arrived this morning. Just waiting to hear when artsycandice finds it and opens it, then I’ll share pics of that one for you!
