Machu Picchu Watercolor

I had considered trying to make a felt version of Machu Picchu for the stitchalong, but decided against it. Machu Picchu is on my bucket list big time!

I’ve been in the mood to work with watercolor again, so why start with something easy? Instead, I decided I would watercolor Machu Picchu.

Here is my art next to the inspiration I found searching “Machu Picchu watercolor” on Google. I am not sure who the artist is.

I have learned a few things.

  1. I need better watercolor paper.
  2. I would like to use liquid watercolor and not cake watercolor.
  3. I like this much better since I added the ink lines.
  4. I shouldn’t have added the ink part in the middle after the fact. I may go and add more green to make it stand out less.

It’s lovely!

Lovely! Watercolor is tricky. I think you wrangled it well! Machu Picchu is a dream destination for me too. Hope you (we) make it someday!

That would make an awesome LC meetup destination!

I like the lines in it. I think the lines in the middle look fine. You did a great job. I like that you are finding a style and using inspiration.
