Make a Pouch + Fill It Gallery - May 2022

There have been so many great additions to this gallery and I am behind on commenting.

@Fonduie - the pouch design you used is really neat and it came together so nicely! It sounds like you did a great job of filling the pouch with items specific for @jillybeans!

@Bunny1kenobi - I like the extra storage built into your double zippered pouch and your miniatures are really impressive. That paint color is perfect for them!

@HolographicDreams - nice fabric choice for the pouch. I like the style of the pouch and the variety of colors on that batik! I also love the Golden Girl fillers and that scarf looks like it would’ve taken forever to make!

@Magpie - I love the sweet sentiment on the inside of the personal hygiene pouch, it’s sure to brighten some days! I have a slide pouch from Amazon and it worked really well for a class I took. I brought my supplies in the pouch and when I got to class, I slid the top down and it acted like a pencil cup keeping all of my supplies nice and handy to grab as needed. I have to say, I prefer the idea of a handmade customized version to my mass produced version.

@SonjaBoo - that celestial fabric definitely makes for a fun looking pouch! What is the other item that you made with that fabric? I love that you included various fabrics as fillers!

@Jillybeans - your pouch looks really good! The dual fabric definitely adds to the upscale look of the pouch, especially with that top stitching on the gray fabric! I wondered what chaos would look like when it came to pouch fillers and I have to say, your interpretation made me smile  .

@gozer - that basket is really neat. What a fun display piece to store various tools and supplies in! Your painting is so detailed and spot on, you’re quite talented!

Love that pretty necklace and the mushroom pouch. The pod! Looks like so much work. And the kitty painting is PERFECT.

Seriously. Check out this amazing package I received from @AudiobookLover. I was oohing and ahhing the whole time I was pulling items out of the pouch.

This beautiful, soft velvety pouch with cacti and a terrarium embroidered under vinyl on the front. Sooo pretty. And the perfect size pouch. I am in love with it!!!

Pouch detail highlighting the stitching and vinyl

Amazing tissue holder in beautiful batik fabric!

Marker/Pen holder and Monogram Notebook both in amazing cork fabric

Inside of marker holder with markers she purchased and inside of notebook with fabric matching tissue holder

Detail of notebook construction

Extras: lotion, sparkly buttons, stickers, and the BESTEST washi tape

Treat Extras: Teas and Airheads (which I had already eaten three of before I took photos yesterday because I have very little willpower. )

Thank you so much for the amazing pouch filled with goodies! I’m afraid my package will pale in comparison to this amazingness, but I hope you like it anyway.

I got the coolest crafty-pouch-tur-duck-en!! I mean, this package kept going and there was pouch after pouch!
First, I got the outer pouch in the coolest fabric. I love stars and gray. LOVE them.

inside she had an adorable book about a lion reading, stickers, and this incredibly awesome cryptozoology advent calendar!

Then inside the bag is another bag with a beautifully done zippered pouch with a vinyl front. It even has this cute cat zipper pull! The inside is the cutest fabric of a cat reading. I love animals reading.

She included some fun fabrics for me to play with. More of the cat reading, cats in waves, and super cool lion reading fabric that goes along with the book!

Then she packed it full of extras. So full! I got a TON of stickers, some fun black cat notecards, and a cat with books card.

Then a bunch of cat pens, a super cute embroidery necklace kit, a ton of tiny bigfoot laser cuts, nail files, ribbon samples, pins with cat faces, ice cream paper clips, cat sticky place keepers, and an amazing cute cat toy of a fish!

@Camelama What an amazing package!!! I love every little thing about it. You really know how to pack a lot into a tiny space. I bet your suitcases are like Mary Poppins’ bag when you go on vacation.

Did you check to see if there was some sort of portal inside the bag? All those goodies…no way! lol…awesome stuff…and yet another type of pouch…I have yet to make a drawstring bag, but now I need to!

Wow, so much goodness stuffed into that pouch - pens and pins and fun cat stuff for days! And cute fabric! I like that lion fabric that coordinates with the book. What a great fun filled pouch!

My swap package has arrived!! However, I’m currently out of town, so I have to wait for my husband to bring it down this weekend. I’ll make sure to remind him a few times because I don’t want to wait any longer than I have to to open it .

This is going to be a really enormous post with more photos than is reasonable, just letting you know in advance, lol.
Thankfully the mail came just before we left at lunch time for a weekend get away or I wouldn’t have even known my swap package from @MightyMitochondria had arrived. Lucky, lucky, lucky.
I opened it in the car, I’m impatient like that
No idea how she stuffed everything in there, I kept reaching in and pulling out another item, and another item, lol. We agreed to swap extras and wow, she’s puts the EXTRA in extra, lemme tell ya. Or show ya, here we go!

First out, a WeeBox Tartan Corsage, well that’s interesting!

Close up of this smiling fella who looks quite cheerful despite the mention of “FBI” & “Birth Defect” in accompanying article. Hope he’s OK!

Two hand made cards and envelopes, each one is uniquely groovy. Love the top texture, the bottom is sparkly, ooohhh…

Basically the biggest TM square I’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely enormous and everything about it is awesome, I love it. It’s going up in the bathroom near the mirror to remind everybody how beautiful they are on the inside, the only place that really matters.

Oh, did I say that was the biggest TM square I’d ever seen? I lied! This is SO BIG, OMGLOL. And it’s covered all over in fabulous little stitches, it’s just grand.

This one is also pretty darn big. This city is a sort of hub for mental health services so I’m feeling the sentiment. I’ll find just the right place for this to live.

This super adorable vintage kit, I’m going to make the little houses and put affirmations on them then abandon them in trees at the park.

A stuffed sack of vintage fabric scraps, myyyyy preeeeecccciiiooouuuusssss! lol

Yard of this special trim

Fabric covered buttons, these need an extra awesome project to be part of.

What is happening here with these patches? How did you come up with this stuff from my Q? You are BEYOND creative, it’s astonishing!

…and more…

…and more…

…and MORE!

Beautiful vintage glass buttons

Bottle cap magnet, really cool old safety pins and one of my all time favourite things, shell buttons.

Batik scrap and this totally weird old old keychain, that’s going directly onto the tchotchke shelf

Another extra large TM patch!

Love the stitching, it’s magical

And finally, the pouch. LOL, bet by now you were utterly distracted and forgot there was even supposed to be one. That’s how I felt too! Surprise!

I requested a stationary folio like this one that @jemimah posted and I was not disappointed. The fabric, pockets, button, and hand stitched detail are wonderful. I wanted something to carry in my purse for emergency letter writing purposes, it’s just perfect.

A whole entire another swap package for @Pigeon ! ACK! She’ll have to wait until I get home to even see any of it.

I’m glad you like everything. The wee tartan corsage came from a subscription box. My mom is REALLY into our Irish and Scottish heritage. She gave me one of her monthly boxes and that was in it.
I am so excited for your vintage house plans!! I have had that kit for a year and didnt know what to do with it. That idea is brilliant.

I am a huge fan of @MightyMitochondria 's stitching…lucky you to get so many pieces!

Those little round patches are so cute…and a new idea for scraps!

I do think LCers are magical people…this has been a very wonderful gallery of amazing things!

I was wondering what kind of flat fillers you would both come up with to avoid the pricey international shipping! The patches were a great idea. I like the variegated pink stitches on the neurotransmitter patch, they look like sprinkles!

@Magpie I forgot to tell you about the fruit fly patch. It is a Spoonflower print with the Drosophila (fruit flies) that are used for genetic breeding studies. That is why their eye color and wing size vary. It is the nerdiest fabric I have ever owned. I have more if someone else needs a weirdly specific fly fabric.

OMG my childhood best friend’s cousin heads up the dept that does all the fruit fly studies in Calgary. That’s so cool!!!

Aaaaaaa i need fruit fly fabric! Where did you get it? A good friend was in charge of all research fruit flies at a university - i have suffered through so many of her rants about people being messy with the fruit fly food!
