Memory Angel Ornaments

My hubby’s co-worker lost her brother and nephew in an accident earlier this year, she commissioned me to crochet 10 angel ornaments (5 of each pattern) for her to give to family as memory ornaments. This is a tradition in their family whenever they lose a loved one.

They are not starched, I played with the wings and skirts, she can decide what she likes best.

If anyone counted, you’d notice 11 angels in the first photo. This was my first try that ended up small, I’m keeping it myself. I’ve probably crocheted 50ish angels over the years but never kept any.

This is a lovely tradition. How grateful they must be to have someone with your talent to help them remember their loves.

Those are lovely and I’m sure thay will be a treasured way of honoring the memory of those lost. Yay for finally keeping an angel of your own.

I already liked them when you showed them earlier, but I didn’t know the meaning behind them. What a great tradition to help them remember the family members they lost. And I’m glad you finally got to keep an angel for yourself as well.

These are so lovely, even without the meaningful backstory. What an honor to be asked to make them.

Cindy, is this a pattern that’s available? A friend just lost her son and I was thinking about something similar?

This is Pattern One

For pattern two I combined a few together so don’t really have an exact pattern.

Thank you so much. I may have to interrupt the sweater I’m working on for my best friend to do one of those quickly and get it sent off.
