I finally finished this men’s shirt-to-nightie refashion, after it languished, unfinished for years because it creases like crazy! I used the plackets from the cuffs for the ends of the straps and saved the ‘Fractured Fairytales’ fairy for the back. Rocky & Bullwinkle have always been favourites of mine along with their nemeses, Natasha Fatale and Boris Badenov. Little did I know I was watching Cold War propaganda!
Cute! I love the straps in the back!
What a cool upcycle! I love the Rocky & Bullwinkle gang.
Love that you saved the details and yet made something nice and functional to wear!
I watch Rocky & Bullwinkle as an adult, and yeah, totally different perspective than as a kid! Random reveal: my dad was stationed on the Russian border in the 1960’s as a “communication” specialist.
Amazing save of a fun shirt.
Rocky & Bullwinkle was one of the few cartoons we watched as a family when I was a kid in the 80s, & my father (who was in DARPA fighting on the technological development front of the last of the cold war) explained a bunch of the political references at the time.
The fractured fairytales were always my favorite, of course.
What a great transformation! Gotta love Fractured Fairy Tales!
This is a wonderful transformation!! So fashionable, even though it’s a nightie.
So sweet and fun. And breezy cool for hot nights.
Thanks! Ah yes, a ‘communications’ specialist. I have a friend whose father was the ‘attache’ to the Yugoslavian consulate in Philidephia - when asked, well yes, he was a spy!
Thanks for all the kind comments!
A grest transformation, saving all the best parts!
Thanks!.
