Mini Envelopes from Book Pages

I was thinking that I might teach my students how to make ATCs as an after testing activity in the next school year. I thought it would be fun to give them each a little envelope to put their ATCs in. I had a book that I had been using for other projects, and the pages were just wide enough to work. I used a tutorial on YouTube (https://youtu.be/ppcE2jyhJ2Y?si=yyiyGPQKpF-mkO9y) and she was making them as seed packets, but mentioned that they were also ATC sized.

I didn’t have a corner rounder, so I did all of them by tracing around the edge of tape dispenser and then cutting them out.

I had to be careful about which pages I used because I needed to make sure the text was appropriate. I skimmed each page, and then tore it out from the book. But, I still won’t use this particular set for my students because as I was gluing them together, I caught a word I had missed. Note to self: Use a kids’ book for kid envelopes!

Cute! I actually got some book pages as an extra in a swap to use as ephemera. The book was definitely not G-rated, so I don’t think the person looked. Pretty funny stuff.

It was funny because when I was looking for pages full of text that I could use, the first one was wildly inappropriate! It was more challenging than I expected to find pages to use. Since the book is now missing pages, and I won’t be using any more pages, into the recycling bin it went! Moving forward, I’ll be using the damaged Harry Potter book that I left at home.
