For the Arts & Crafts Club over at the 2025 Summer Nerd Games we got the materials to make a little macrame rope rainbow. I knew I probably wouldn’t do anything with it after it was made, so I decided to go in the more functional direction and made a little rope bowl. I wrapped the embroidery floss in rainbow order, using the white floss to stitch the bowl together. It’s a little wonky because A) I haven’t made on in a while and B) the rope wasn’t as stiff as I have used in the past. But, it came out very cute!
Thank you! In general, I’m not a rainbows for decoration person, but making it into a useful object means it will be out on my craft table holding small necessities.
Thank you! I think it will be the perfect size to temporarily hold the thread and bobbin I always leave in my sewing machine. I can’t be bothered to put it away promptly when I’m swapping it out for new thread, so it’ll be a good parking spot until I’m ready to put them away. Much better than chasing them when they inevitably roll off of the table
