Mini Rainbow Rope Bowl

For the Arts & Crafts Club over at the 2025 Summer Nerd Games we got the materials to make a little macrame rope rainbow. I knew I probably wouldn’t do anything with it after it was made, so I decided to go in the more functional direction and made a little rope bowl. I wrapped the embroidery floss in rainbow order, using the white floss to stitch the bowl together. It’s a little wonky because A) I haven’t made on in a while and B) the rope wasn’t as stiff as I have used in the past. But, it came out very cute!

It’s the perfect size for my Arts & Crafts Club bracelet!

Thank you! In general, I’m not a rainbows for decoration person, but making it into a useful object means it will be out on my craft table holding small necessities.

Adorable variation on the new project (and reminder that I need to get going on mine). I love that you made it useful!

Thank you! Once I saw someone else vary it a little, I figured it opened the door to other possibilities

Thank you! I think it will be the perfect size to temporarily hold the thread and bobbin I always leave in my sewing machine. I can’t be bothered to put it away promptly when I’m swapping it out for new thread, so it’ll be a good parking spot until I’m ready to put them away. Much better than chasing them when they inevitably roll off of the table

So cute.
If you use it to hold jewelry you can say there is gold at the bottom of this rainbow :rainbow:

LOL! If I wore jewelry more often, I would do exactly that😄
