This is a fun and easy way to make mini candles because you can make them as tall, short, fat or skinny as you like!
I use crochet cotton, paper towel and good ol’ Elmers glue.
Cut the paper towel into strips that measure the height you want for your candle. Then cut the strip to your preferred length.
Add several dabs of glue to one side of the paper towel strip.
Smooth the glue over the paper with a finger, then put the crochet cotton at one end of the strip.
Then you just roll it up, keeping the ends as even as possible.
Trim the ends of the cotton.
Use a Sharpie to color the burned end of the wick.
Voila! You have a custom mini candle for your dollhouse or diorama. You can drip glue down the side to represent melted wax, and/or paint it.
Thanks for looking!

Clever! I love making shrines with candles. I am not going to light them, of course, in a shrine, so these are perfect!
Thanks for the tutorial!

Glad you liked it! Sometimes just making my own is easier than digging around looking for beads that are the right shape and size to use as candles.

What a great solution to candles! Way more versatile than trying to find something the right proportions.

Thanks! Not complicated by any means, but I figured if it hadn’t occurred to me, others may not have had the thought either.
