Monet's Water Lilies in thread

For the IYP swap I embroidered Monet’s Water Lilies for my partner @jemimah
I saw the painting on her pinterest and wanted to take on the challenge of trying to get a watercolor look in thread (I know his paintings are oil but they have a watercolor look to me).

I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
It’s a 5" hoop

Apparently he did a lot of water lilies. this is the one I used as inspiration.

You were really able to capture the original impressionistic spirit with your stitches. I know jemimah was thrilled to receive it!

I wish I could give this 5,000,000 hearts. It is simply stunning. I love the blue fabric with the slight pattern you used for the background too. What a beautiful piece.
