Monster coat - complete

Soooo I actually finished this bad boy WEEKS ago, but got lazy and forgot to take pictures.

I can reliably say that it is warm at -25, although if it gets too windy nothing can save you. I tried a pic of me wearing it, and I just look like a short pyramid of bulky fabric :joy: - that would be the blankets (and yeah, i know they are all different kinds, but I was trying to use what I had).

This fantastic! And using stash for lining makes it even better.

I love that plaid and the frogs are perfect. Stay warm!

Lined with that warm plush will help you not get blown over in the wind!

Love how you combined a rainbow with plaid.

The plaid is beautiful and I love the blanket insides. Very resourceful!

I think the plaid fabric and those frogs make it probably more stylish than you think you look. Isn’t everyone all bulky looking when it’s -25?! (Or else they’re freezing!) It looks like the coziest coat with the repurposed-blankets liner!

Nice!

A friend of mine used to do historical costuming for a Russian persona, & described the traditional garments as layering “until you look like a traffic cone.”

This looks so cozy!
Did you make the entire coat, or just add the lining?

I made the whole thing - the plaid was from a fabric store, the lining and waterproof lining were from Giant Tiger
