Behold, a monstery merit badge. I just mopped the entire downstairs so I feel like I’ve earned this particular badge…although technically it’s not mine as I’m donating it as a raffle prize in the Spring Nerd Games.
This guy was made with felt and embroidery thread and features a silicone monster charm as the focal point. The charm is actually a shoe charm for Crocs from an adorable set I bought (I don’t own Crocs and the charms have never been on any shoes).
The badge has a magnet inside so it can go on the fridge, hang on anything metal (like next to a desk), or be paired with another magnet and worn as an actual badge.
I didn’t get a ton of process pics. For the design, I sketched things on tracing paper first.
I glued the magnet inside, but ended up switching to a tiny button magnet instead of the one shown (much less bulk and weight).
