The beads and the greenman are both from necklaces I made and wore a lot about 15-25 years ago. The original necklaces partially rotted and broke, so the remains have been sitting in a box waiting to be reborn. The silver chain, suede, wire, and cord ends are all new parts. And, for some reason, I suddenly wanted a long boob-crossing necklace. So here it is…
Nice remake!
The combination of materials seems perfect for the main piece.
Thank you!!
What a great and crative way to breathe new life into old necklaces!
The combo looks great! Nice job!
Thank you!
You’ve really made the most of your broken necklaces. There’s no way that
Green Man should be sitting in a box!
Nice remake! So much better than sitting in a box somewhere. It looks great!
@TheMistressT @Bunny1kenobi Thank you! When I counted back to figure out how long those had been out of commission, I was kind of shocked. There are more old necklace remains too, so now I am motivated to get the rest remade. Most of the cords/ ribbons/ wood beads/ etc had been through the ocean a few times, puked on by sick babies and then not so carefully washed, pulled on repeatedly by toddlers and cats, and more so a lot of my old favorite jewelry had fallen apart… and actually disintegrated in some cases… I am pretty happy to have the greenman out and wearable again!
