Brief Description:
A challah shaped like a key is traditionally baked once a year, on the Friday following Passover. It is said to symbolize the key to prosperity. It also looks very pretty in photos and is very Instagram-worthy. Instagram foodie trends started in the 2010s, according to Google, so it’s probable that a lot of these breads have been baked and posted during that decade.

I’ve never had any great success at drawing faces, so I went into this expecting a bit of a failure. But Tamara’s guidance was so clear, that I was amazed by the result (and ran to show it to the rest of the people in the house, and everyone I met for an entire week or so).

This was crafted during a fun club meeting, where the theme was related to the Eurovision, so lots of songs. I had the song “Sunflower” playing in my head while I worked on the sunflower part. Also, flowers are pretty round. (these acrylic pens are delightful, they work wonderfully on black paper)

Brief Description:
Another try at Bindi’s flora painting. Started out as flowers, but at some point when I looked at it I saw it was flowers floating in a pond, so the koi showed up. The fish have whisker-like features on their face, called barbels, that look like a mustache.

In the fun club meeting that happened the day after the Eurovision, the theme was “More!”, we had all the shiny, glittery and sparkly stuff on the table. I did something else as my main thing during the meeting, but couldn’t resist this cute llama sticker, so made this cute little card with all sorts of shiny and sparkly stuff. It hangs next to my computer screen and makes me smile.
