Hahaha, that is the first time a group of engineers and planners has ever been called a “fun crowd.”
I work for a city in community development, basically new things being built around town. I review their civil plans for conformance to city code and good engineering practices. So we have to find fun where we can.
Yes! Some of our libraries have ukuleles to borrow, some have lei making classes, I know of at least one that has a messy day once a month for kids (where they can make slime, etc. and the parents don’t have to deal with it in their own home)!
Edit to add: our summer reading program is pretty great too. There are fun prizes (even for adults) and a drawing for airline tickets every year too, haha!

Lovely bookmark (and good taste in books )! I like how you have the flower at the top and the leaves at the bottom of the bookmark stem. I bet it stays in the book better than the decorative bookmarks that only have something at the top.
I stopped by to see my cousin at the library and grabbed a few of these neat bookmarks they had available in the YA area with some amazing book recommendations on them. Figured I would share them with everyone in case they wanted some ideas.

This is the beginning of a hat that uses a method I have never seen (or tried) before. It’s made with 6 sets of this shape- the next one is crocheted directly onto the previous one, then it’s seamed together at the end. It should result in a nicely rounded shape at the top of the hat. I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of the weekend!
