Nessie at the Wedding

My younger sister’s good friend is getting married in August. They have been friends for almost 20 years, so I have hung out with her many times at parties and different events. While I’m not going to the wedding, I wanted to make her a small gift.

She has a side hustle painting on thrifted pieces and is very talented. I have purchased many of her prints and postcards (her shop is here). This is her shop logo (she sent me a sticker and I put it on my picnic cooler):

So when I found this pattern, I knew it would be perfect. Here are some progress shots:

I really debated on colors and almost made her black, but I’m glad I chose this color. It’s got a nice sheen, but is still giving dark, murky water.

I used Lion Brand 24/7 mercerized cotton yarn in the color Dragonfly and a 3.25mm hook. I didn’t use the whole skein.

I hope to make another one of these in a different color/yarn for Swap the Shop in the fall.

She is so adorable, but she is the Loch Ness Monster so I’ve included her in Monster Jam. Thanks for looking!

This was also made by @geekgirl last year! I just stumbled across her post yesterday and I had already liked it so… lol I guess I filed it away subconsciously!
