New Watercolor Painting: Taos Apache

My meeting today was cancelled so I opted to finally finish this painting.
I titled it “Taos Apache”

One of my customers says it’s a 1958 long bed Chevy Apache truck.
I had worked out everything except the year.

Watercolor on Arches cold press paper.

Yay the yellow truck is done :purple_heart: I really enjoy this piece. I picture my son driving a yellow truck someday with a big grin on his face lol

I love all the details you captured on the truck, you can really feel its age. I also really like how you did the windows including the cracks on the rear window. Well done!

Thank you everyone!

@Manders I wish I could drive a yellow truck too! I actually really wish I had the money and know how to buy this one and restore it. It’s amazing. But, I can only afford to paint it’s picture… I’ll dream about your son driving it. He has time to learn how to fix this guy up.

@Tapestry @photojenn You hit on all the things I was going for: texture, depth, age… and windows are hard! I saved that spiderweb crack for the end because I was afraid to make a mess of it. I need to practice some glass painting now… Thank you!

Thanks!!!

As has been said, you’ve really captured to much texture and age with this! I keep thinking there is real rusty metal there.

You all always have so many more detailed comments than I get when I post the same paintings on Facebook or Instagram. I love it.
