Not Very Slouchy Everyday Slouchy Beanie

This one took two tries to get it to fit my head. I think the designer has super loose gauge or something…

This is a modified Everyday Slouch Beanie, by Dragon Hoard Designs.

I neglected to do the increase round after the brim, so it is not as loose as the pattern intends. It’s still wearable though. This was mainly a small scale test to see it I liked working with mohair held with another yarn, and to find out if the mohair will bother me at all while wearing it. There’s a sweater I want to do that has mohair held with a fingering weight, and I’d rather figure out if I hate mohair on a small investment of time and materials.

I made the medium size, and used 3 different needle sizes for each section. I used a lonely skein of MadTosh merino singles with some Shibui Silk Cloud mohair that was leftover from a shawl.

I like it, I plan to make another that is slouchier now that I have my needle sizes figured out for this.

Interesting how “beanies” have changed over time.
