I took a moment to search ‘craft stocking people’ and came across this YouTube video - How to Craft a Jar of Pickled Bums. So apparently, it was (is?) a thing.

Yeah they are the stockings for sure. I don’t think my magazine has instructions for it but that video should be fine for it.
