On the Farm Frock

I whipped this dress up from a thrifted sheet and leftover fabric bits. I started with a free trapeze dress pattern, but I heavily modified it: raised the neckline, drafted a new bodice with built-in sleeves, added some pleats under the bust for a little shape, added a pocket, and stitched on long ties to cinch it at the sides. I also made a detachable collar from contrasting scraps.

I like it a lot so I’m going to make it again but with nice fabric once I hit up my local fabric store.

I feel like it has a kind of country farm gal appeal so I took photos of it perched on our John Deere tractor.
