Years ago I was able to buy metal square bracelet frames from Walmart - used for the wire jewelry fad popular at the time. I wish I could still find them (and I’ve looked).
I do have a pattern to print the frames with our 3D printer. We had to increase the thickness to make them a bit more robust, but I still managed to find new weaknesses:
Now there is a very precise way to calculate how much fiber is needed and how to lay it all out to shrink onto the frame, but that’s a lot more time consuming than I care to apply and I do like to see if I can figure out shortcuts that may eventually be useful to others who also don’t want to do the ultra thorough approach. There another shortcut that I may try the next time I do one of these square bracelets.
New weakness: 3D printed bracelet frames can go a bit wonky in hot water!
I adjusted it as much as was possible and it’s not so wonky as to abandon. I rather like it.
I made a point of NOT using really hot water when wet felting the foundation on this bracelet. These colors were chosen because of a post @AIMR made about an afgan she created in these colors years ago.
