One Hour Crocheted Handbag

I made this cute little crocheted handbag tonight. It did take a little more than an hour because I was stopping to watch a video for instructions. Mine came out a little smaller than the one in the video (and my stitch count was different, so I will rewatch the video to see if I can figure out why), but it’s big enough for the necessities and it’s in my favorite color of green!

I used this video: https://youtu.be/J8v23RYPg6Y?si=JmUjEFQN1UKTEhK_

Thank you! I love that it’s green without being an in-your-face green :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thank you! I think my actual crocheting time came in at about 1 hour and 3 minutes, but then I had to weave in the tails. The video is about 20 minutes, so in total, it was about an hour and a half, which still isn’t too bad.

Thank you! It’s tiny but cute :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It measures 7.75” wide, and 6.5” tall, not including the handles, which add about 1.5”. In the video comments, she says her bag is 9.8” wide, 7.9” tall, and 10.6” with the handles.

Thank you! It’s all done in the back loop, and the cotton cord makes the front loop really stand out. And, the FB and Instagram algorithms deliver the goods sometimes!

Thank you! It’s all single crochet done in the back loop only, so not only is it easy, it looks nice, too.

Super cute! I like the color too!

Thank you!

While I originally learned back in the 70’s as a kid, I didn’t actually make anything beyond a few samples. I picked it again in the late 90’s, and started a blanket, but thought that I was doing it wrong, so I packed it into a tote box. In the early 00’s, I picked it up again thanks to the inspiration and support from the old site and haven’t stopped
