Ooh I’m loving the textured element of the flames on the snake.
And then that seal of approval really got a good out-loud chuckle out of me. The speech bubble was a good choice to make the pun clear

I received two ATC’s in the mail yesterday!
From @LindyBlues, for my Trash to Treasure theme, named Believe. It will fit so nicely in my collection! Thank you, @LindyBlues!
And from @curiousfae, I got my first ATC from my theme Self-Portrait! It is a diamond painting, and I was FLOORED when I opened it! For such a small canvas, it is so detailed, and I can see so many details! Thank you @curiousfae!
Both letters really brightened my day. Thank you for everyone who participates in the ATC swaps! I love receiving mail.
@TruGritty So glad you liked it. That one took a long time to get there; I think I sent it last year!
@chameleonhound, I enjoyed making that “seal of approval,” lol. My sister-in-law said it would be great as a stamp. Perhaps I might finally dig out the stuff I bought and conquer my fear of working in negative space some day… haha
I’m looking forward to another round; sending my Q for March now.
I guess this is the week my local post office decided to start delivering from Canada, because I got ANOTHER letter from @LindyBlues the very next day!
This one is my first of my Tomie dePaola theme, and it is of Strega Nona! I love it so much, and I’m glad you incorporated her magic cauldron of pasta!
I will make sure it gets a place of honor in my ATC binder. Thank you again!
I received from LindyBlues!
An very unique abstract (looks like a map to me ). It has a lot of texture/dimension!!
And…extras!!!
I do love skulls!!! Thank you so much!!!
These are all great. I love the trash to treasure theme! That self portrait is amazing, as is strega Nona.
The blue abstract piece looks like what brain fog feels like to me.
I received from @thanate for my literal interpretations of popular idioms theme!
It made me laugh out loud
Especially since I’m currently in the process of clearing out several areas of my house in preparation for a reno.
Thank you!
Those leaves with the dew on them look real!
I received from @thanate for my Year of the Snake theme!
I adore the use of bark on here, and all the textures! It came with a lovely extra nasturtium print too
Just a heads up for those of us in the US-- there was an announcement on Friday about Musk starting to fire postal employees, so the mail situation may get unpredictable in the near future. Send your mail while the sun yet shines (or contact your reps to say you love the USPS, etc) and if things go massively sideways with letter delivery we’ll play it by ear the same way as we did with the Canada Post strike.
I received some lovely ATCs today!
From @curiousfae for my “sun-loving things” theme, sunflowers made from beads:
From @WiccadWitch, “hold your horses” for my “literal representations of popular idioms:”
And an adorable black panther:
Thank you; I love them all
I need some mojo to start flowing so I jumped back in to the ATC swap.
I recd from @chameleonhound for my exotic fruit theme.
It’s a durian fruit. I’ve only ever seen them and never tasted them (that I’m aware of lol)
This is what AI says about them…
‘Durian, known as the “king of fruits,” is a spiky, tropical fruit native to Southeast Asia with a distinctive, often pungent aroma and a custard-like, sweet, and creamy flavor’.
I’m so intrigued.
(er, sort of… for future reference wikipedia is pretty much always going to be a better reference than an AI summary, since generative AI by definition doesn’t understand concepts like “truth”…)
Durian is famously stinky-- the comparisons I’ve seen are mostly to strong body odor-- and reputedly delicious but also gives you its smell for a while. (not unlike garlic, perhaps. ) It’s one of those giant fruits that evolved to attract large mammals kind of like our Osage Oranges, & SE Asia still actually has a few megafauna like elephants and sumatran rhinos that love them.
Excellent texture on that card!
Yes! I decided to make a durian because in some places they’re revered, and in others they’re not allowed to be eaten in public. Quite a complicated fruit!
And avocados! Which may have gone extinct with North American giant megafauna if not for the peoples who decided they were tasty and kept cultivating them.
Oh, believe me, you would remember if you had eaten some, even if you were very drunk. I could never get past the smell to even taste it.
Lol! You’re probably right. Sounds like something I would remember.
I keep thinking…. If it smells so bad, who would even wanna try it? That person must have been very hungry.
I’ve often wondered how certain foods got eaten by the first person…I know they watched animals, but who would eat an oyster, or even dig up some sort of root vegetable? Eat smelly or slimy things the first time…yeah, they must have been hungry!
I have never eaten an egg without it being part of a mix of something, like bread or dough. I have never had French toast, even. I think eggs are weird. I always ask Who thought this smells like BO and matches? Let’s put it in my mouth! Nope.
I like eggs raw sometimes…just crack one over hot rice. I also eat oysters raw and even managed to take a bit of natto (fermented stinky soybeans!). I like weird foods but I would never want to be the first one trying it…ha!
