The summer off sounds like a good idea with your schedule and the possible postal strike.
As for the frequency, I prefer the swaps being available every month. But you could take a quick poll, like you usually do, to gauge the interest for the next month. That seems to work pretty well.
I can definitely keep doing this, I just worry when we have a long span with very few people per month, and wondered if hosting less frequently would help encourage everyone to join in at the same time. (as my mother says, the thing you can do anytime is the one youāre least likely to get around toā¦) If what weāre seeing is just people being busy & overstressed, that obviously wonāt help, tho.
Weāll see what things look like as September approaches.
If the swap were to drop down to quarterly, is the idea to have it run for the entire quarter (e.g., people could claim from January 1st through March 31st?) I would actually like that, and then it feels like you can jump in whenever you have the time. Though Iām OK with whatever.
I wanted to claim a lot more this month/do a lot more swaps this year, but life has been⦠complicated. The looming potential strike also is making me a little less enthusiasticā¦
Sadly, no; it would be one month per quarter. (Thereās a longstanding rule that swaps have sign-ups open for no more than one month, which in this case mostly translates to one month per swap.)
Iām pretty sure thereās a lot of the āwanted to do more but [all the things]ā going around, and maybe there isnāt a better option, but I wanted to toss out a few things to see if anything inspired other people. (conclusion: no, probably not, but still worth asking about.)
The Post Office informed me that the price of stamps will increase by $0.05 per stamp starting on the 13th, so grab them now while they are still cheaper. They even released the Christmas stamps early, so you can purchase them now.
Spread the word.
Yikessss! Also, Iām not sure if this applies to everyone, but if you have a P.O. box, I believe the rates are going up again (although they vary by location anyway, so it might not be the same everywhere), so renewing before July 13 also can lock in the old rate for a little longer.
@thanate sent me a second card, while my first one was still navigating the US Postal System. I donāt think I have ever expressed my long love for Mo Willams here, but this pigeon is MY FAVORITEEEE. Thank you so much!!!
Ok, we have three wistful maybes and nobody jumping up and down about it, so I think weāre going to hold off on starting back up until next month.
While youāre waiting, now would be a good time to update your prompt listsā weāve been seeing a lot of the same themes and itās time to add some new ones!
