Pallet Turkey

My kids asked us for a turkey to put in the front yard for Thanksgiving this year. My husband made this fine fellow out of old pallets and I painted it. We are putting sealant on it now (it needs a couple coats, and each coat needs a week to dry so we figured we should seal it after Thanksgiving so the kids could enjoy it on the actual holiday without wet sealant getting in the way).

How fun! Great job!
Is his body made out of chip board, or did you paint that nice feathery effect?

The body is made of an OSB scrap we had. I thought it looked like feathers too. :slightly_smiling_face:

This guy’s a charmer! I love his fancy tail feathers and think the OSB is brilliant!

The children have named him TurkTurk, and they do indeed love him. They now think we can build anything they can dream up and have started requesting new creations daily.
