Pansy dress

I finished my Pansy dress, just in time to use it in my ‘psychic’ outfit for a fun work event.

The pattern is Pansy dress by Rosery Apparel (I’m low key obsessed with her, please don’t judge) and a cotton from Spotlight.

I watched ‘MyMumMakes’ video on YouTube and added the side ties like she did. As I’m an Australian size 12, without the ties it didn’t give me much shape. The video is here: Rosery Apparel Pansy Dress review

One of my dogs really wanted to be in the photo shoot, but isn’t the most photogenic.

Lovely work!

I am also a fan of Rosery Apparel! I love her annual collections of everything she made that year, Her colorways are a lot more muted than I like, so it is nice to see one of her patterns made up in brighter colors and by someone with my hair color!

Lovely on you! Did you agree with the 88.5% rating? The pattern part would frustrate me. I’ve only tried the things that don’t use a pattern (Milkmaid Dress?).

Very wearable. It can go into fall with a cardigan and dark shoes…and your pup just wanted to adore you!

Beautifully executed! And it looks great on you!

I am also pretty sure I had a similar dress (but much smaller) in the exact same colors/pattern as a child in the early 80s.

The colors and scale of that plaid are great for this dress and on you! Great thinking to add ties at the waist. This looks like a great piece for the transitional seasons. Your pup is adorable and has that red carpet 3/4 pose mastered!

It turned out so pretty! That is such a fun plaid. I agree that the colors are very 80s - I had so many clothes in teal/purple/pink back then. So rad!

I dig Rosery Apparel’s style and love watching her videos.

Yeah, they are my favourite as well.

Her colours are a bit too muted for me as well, it would wash me out and I love a bit of vibrancy.

I would agree with the rating. It is a pretty easy and quick to come together pattern. She has the video to go alongside it, but I didn’t need it. I can see myself making the short sleeve version as well.

I’ve never made anything without a pattern, you are very talented to do it without one. This one, I’m sure you would be able to clone without the pattern.

Ohh I love that!

I have a similar RTW dress of the shorter version, it just doesn’t have the key hole detail and has the ties. It’s my favourite!

It is my favourite colour palette. If I could have my whole house in this colour scheme I would, but the husband also has opinions :rofl:
