Ooh, fun!

Wow, these are fantastic creative fodder @geekgirl!

I’m not managing one every day, but I’m working on it most days, and I’ve still got plenty of supplies haha! Count me in to aim for 100 :smiley_cat:

Great! I need a bigger box/basket to hold the cards so any excuse to visit all the thrift stores!

I went to the County Fair in July and I picked up this ribbon just for fun. Then I saw this dress-pattern girl and I remembered a dress I made - and runway-modeled- at a county fair in New Jersey. My dress was a red background with rickrack on the cap sleeves. My bestie’s mom was a superb seamstress and she taught me how to sew. I was 11 or 12 but I won’t tell you how many years ago. You can probably guess from the style.

I made some waxed papers using this video

I had an old iron I didn’t mind using and I used some beeswax I had on hand instead of candle wax.

You have to iron a lot to make sure the wax is spread evenly and thin. If the layer of wax isn’t thin enough it cracks when dried. Good news is you can just iron it more if that happens.

For these two pages I tried to show areas where I didn’t have the wax spread out enough so you can see a difference

That looks like a neat technique @geekgirl! How do you use the papers once they’re waxed?

In the video she sewed paper to the back and used a a journal cover - kind of like a traveler’s notebook type journal. or cut and sew paper on the back as journaling tuck cards.

the paper has a really nice feel to it after applying the wax. so I can see it being a great choice for a journal cover. I didn’t have a specific goal in mind. just wanted to try out the technique.

I have been super busy lately, and so I haven’t done very many index cards, but I am persevering when I can! These ones are mainly doodles on the couch late at night when I’ve run out of energy :snail:
