I know what you mean about those paid classes

Looks like there are some good lessons in this year’s queue! I’m in love with Eulalia Mejia’s King Night piece and determined to make time for that class. I’ve always wanted to try painting on cardboard but haven’t done it yet.

I am doing that one as well!

I turned some of the art work into notecards!

I have been watching the videos but I don’t have the time or energy to try any of the lessons. I like BB Henry and may try her crazy accordion book. But after May 22.

I loved her book but just don’t have time. I usually print out any materials and take notes and put stars on the ones I really want to try. There is no way anyone can do all of them without being superhuman! Plus, I am doing the Making Zen which has 9 or so videos a day and they only last 24 hours! I just pick one or two each day.

Is anyone planning to do Index Card a Day (June 1-July 31) this year? I’m leaning toward sitting this one out, but if y’all are gonna give me FOMO then I may change my mind .

Link to the ICAD site. It’s still set up for 2025’s challenge but will give you the gist if you have no idea what I’m talking about.

I caved and bought the VIP pass for Mastering Mixed Media 2026. I also have a lot of partially finished projects from Making Zen so I better not do another challenge. I just don’t have the time.

I hope to be in a position to do it again this year.

Maybe, I’m always enthusiastic at the beginning. And I bought 300 - 3x5 cards last year.

I’m still thinking I’ll bypass an official ICAD attempt, but I may dabble as the mood strikes. Goodness knows I still have plenty of blank index cards .

I really liked the cairn one. Looks like an easy and fun way to do a bit of watercolor and some doodling. The faux calligraphy was also informative.

I made a small journal out of envelopes and scrapbook papers. Trying to use up my stash and I also needed something to keep some miscellaneous items in.
Front cover:

Opened. Made with three envelopes so there are three pockets. There is also a small pocket on the back. I plan on using the center to put some of my favorite stickers from Happy Mail or swaps. I toned down those bright corners with distress ink but didn’t feel like taking another picture. Going to spend a few days filling it up.

Beautiful and functional!

I started. I have ambitions.

All will have song lyrics that match or are inspired by the art. I apologize in advance for any resulting ear worms.
