Okay. Another “I don’t know why I do the things I do” but composition books were 55 cents at Office Depot. And I know that half-sized (horizontal) books exist in the world and so do minis - 4.25” x 3.25.”
Plus I’m subbing in the office of the preschool I worked at for 29+ years and I am reunited with my beloved paper cutter/guillotine.
But I had an idea…
But wait, there’s more
Because a 5” x 5” composition book doesn’t exist. And I get 2! Isn’t life wonderful?

I make little books and then use them to put stickers and other things I get in swaps or mail. Here is my book from last year.

@Reinikka was the first person I saw collecting & using security envelopes in the early days of either happy mail or masterboards. Free art supplies everywhere, yay!
I found that book by Catered Paper they are on Etsy too. You can find most suppliers on Ama$0n somewhere else if you search up the company name. I’ve been trying to give that malignent giant zero $upport for their weird global dominance agenda

With everyone worrying about privacy and such, I find that I am receiving more and more items in the mail using security envelopes. Even the post office uses them to mail out purchased stamps.
Also, my husband does not use the internet at all, so all of his financial and medical papers come with security envelopes.
Ages ago, I used them to make flowers and fodder for journals. I also have pages of masterboards using them as background to collage. I don’t want to purchase any, just reuse the envelopes.

I am persnickety about things like this. For me, the collecting is an important part of the process. It’s the same way I feel about ephemera. Buying ephemera defeats the purpose for me.

I hardly ever get any mail at all these days. But I do save envelopes to use as note paper and, to my great surprise, I discovered that some of those have interesting patterns! Thanks everyone for this discussion. I am going to be more observant of this in the future.
