I finally got a chance to watch some of the Make Create Express videos. Here’s my riff on Kristen Fagan’s Wild Heart Intuitive Collage.
I used scraps for my collage paper. (Not that it made any dent in the scrap drawers.)

I believe I may have more scraps than actual supplies ![]()

I totally agree. My former colleague is the Business Manager of the preschool and she saves them for me. And that’s how I started collecting them.
When I first saw the book on Amazon, I thought to myself - Why didn’t I think of that?!?!
Scraps beget scraps. That’s the absolute truth!
I’ve got a zip pouch with all sorts of security envelopes
And one with black and white text
And other one with different kinds of bubble wrap.
And one with textured wallpaper samples
And one with tissue paper, doilies, napkins, and other translucent papers
The mesh zip pouches are great for organizing
paper bits and they fit perfectly in a kallax
That’s a great tip!
A verrry loose take on Vanessa Oliver Lloyd’s (Lloyd Oliver’s?) MCE tempter lesson. Basically, I used her method for choosing your tarot card and got Strength. It usually shows a figure – often female – with a lion, so my old-millenial brain obviously immediately went “Princess Jasmine!”

A new day, a new project. I saw this idea in an intro to collage book, Once upon a Piece of Paper, by Andrea D’Aquino. Making paper dolls from scraps, free-hand cutting shapes, and heads made from fingerprints (which are trimmed when I cut them).
They are about 3” to 5” tall.
These only take 5 to 10 minutes each to make so here are some more. I do wish I had edged/inked all the pieces before assembling. Oh, well.
I love these! What a great idea! Thank you for this.
Here’s a fun idea for all you mail artists.
Oh my goodness. Check out the amazing gallery from the 2025 contest:
Thanks! I have sent this to my granddaughter. It’s just the kind of thing that might interest her.
Yes! Some of these are quite astonishing!
So cool - thanks for sharing that! Agreed that the art is so varied and amazing!
