I made the background with a peg loom and a bunch of long-saved special and Halloween-y yarns and fibers. It is glued to the board, though I did so sparingly so it wouldn’t seep through.
I free handed a vintage-y pumpkin guy with liner pen, acrylic paint, and matte sealant. He needed a little more zazz, so I made the burlap ribbon rosette as the finishing touch.
Oh nice! I like seeing the different angles of it. It’s funny from further away the purplish at the bottom looks like punch needle. Peg loom! I haven’t seen that before and now I need to go look it up. I have a few things to weave and I was thinking about in elementary school when we used a piece of cardboard with twine on it. It would have worked, but this looks intriguing. Thanks for creating a separate post about it!
The texture is so yummy! Just some good eye candy. Oddly, I have no idea how a peg loom works! That’s really strange given that I know how to do so much random stuff! I think it was genius adding the ribbon. It all came together so nicely!

The weaving alone is epic!
I also like the rosette behind that cute pumpkin. Excellent drawing skills!
What a fun and creative way to make a house for the swap! I like how the chunky orange fiber has a pumpkiny look. I’ve never heard of a peg loom either, I’m going to have to look that up.
oh, this is great!
I’ve tried to do a bit of art weaving in the past to use up some of the yarn stash, and this is a wonderful way to use it as a background – thanks for sharing!

Thank you for all the kindness! It did have a very satisfying squish.
