The tree was done in acrylics on paper and I wanted to try using a bright pink under painting and capturing the feeling of looking up into a tree.
The sunset was done with pan pastels and pastel pencils on paper. For this piece I wanted to try using the pastel pencils to enhance the wave details.
The mountain piece was watercolor on watercolor paper. It’s a tutorial from a book I have on watercolor seascapes and I wanted to practice layering and painting water.
I had fun making each piece and playing in lots of different mediums. Thanks for looking!
They are all gorgeous! I love the subtle sky change and the atmospheric have of teh mountains in the watercolor one.
The detailing in the waves gives depth to the sunset.
and the tree looks amazing. I can feel myself under the tree looking up on a warm day while reading.
What a great way to practice different mediums and techniques. I especially like the subtle gradation of the pink sky hues and that pink water is absolutely lovely!
