Pineapple on pizza! 😱

My son likes to reuse his pizza costume from a few years back because he gets lots of compliments, and it’s easy. This year he thought he would add to it and be pineapple pizza. We started with a 3" thick foam chair cushion and picked the edges/corners off with our fingers to look rough (forgot to photograph). We ended up cutting the pieces in half thickness-wise because they looked weird being so thick on the flat pizza. We were pretty pleased with the outcome.

First layer, spray paint:

Second layer, acrylic brushed on to look fibrous

Yellow is another one of those colors that is hard to capture the true shade on camera!

Ha ha! Pineapple on pizza is so common here, it’s not really that weird. Nice costume update!

I love it, but then I love pineapple on my pizza….and don’t freak out…mandarin orange segments.

OMGOSH Why have I never considered mandarin oranges on pizza??? Yummmm!

But I digress… the costume idea is genius! I think your pineapple bits look perfect!

What else do you put with the orange segments?

I love the brightness that citrus adds to savory dishes. I visited a new local breakfast diner and had eggs Benedict that had a citrus kick in the hollandaise sauce. It was so delicious and unexpected!

Start with a basic cheese pizza (marinara sauce and your favorite cheeses), then add Canadian bacon, pineapple, and mandarin oranges. Both the pineapple and mandarin segments are from a can. Drain them well and pat dry. The order of ingredients is sauce, cheese, Canadian bacon, pineapple, and oranges. I can’t take credit for this combo. We first discovered it at a place near my MIL that sold ā€œtake-and-bakeā€ pizzas.
